Nobilis Fernandes No.41 1999

Nobilis Fernandes No. 41 is a single cask Trinidad rum bottled by Nobilis Rum, distilled at the Fernandes plant, part of the TDL operation. It comes from the island's molasses based tradition but, at 24 years old and full strength, lands far from the usual light, easy Trinidad style.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at a serious cask strength of 65.5% without sweetening, it is dry and intense, with mint, menthol and a medicinal edge defining the Trinidad character, joined by roasted wood, leather, fruit and a thread of caramel sweetness. The finish is long, minty and powerful, with tar and barrel underneath. This is an atypical, characterful expression rather than a classic TDL, and it suits drinkers who already enjoy dry, punchy Trinidad rum and want a mature, cask strength version of that minty, savoury profile.
