This Neptune release takes Barbados distillate from Foursquare, the island's most respected distillery, and turns it into a spiced rum, so it sits apart from the dry, additive-free single blends Foursquare is known for. Bottled at a gentle 37.5 percent and built around added spice, it is a flavoured rum and should be read as one.

The aroma carries tropical fruit and allspice, with tasters picking out strong cinnamon and vanilla, and the palate keeps that warm baking-spice lead over a light, smooth Barbados base. Distilled from molasses on Foursquare's pot and column stills and matured in ex-bourbon before spicing, it trades the distillery's usual banana-and-toffee subtlety for an approachable, spice-driven character.
