A cask strength 7 year old Neisson agricole bottled for La Maison du Whisky, pressed from fresh sugar cane juice on Martinique and aged in ex-Bourbon oak, an unsweetened 51.2 percent vintage.
Description
Neisson is a small family distillery on Martinique with a devoted following, distilling from fresh pressed sugar cane juice on the island's rum AOC. This Tatanka La Case Creole is a 2010 vintage aged seven years, bottled at cask strength for La Maison du Whisky.
Seven years of warm climate ageing carries an agricole past its stated age, and the record points toward a green, floral and woody profile with spiced chocolate, vanilla and a tropical fruit edge over the grassy cane core. Cask strength and unsweetened at 51.2 percent, it shows the Neisson distillate with clarity and snap. A dry, structured pour that opens with a few drops of water.
