Neisson Tatanka La Cabanne

Neisson is a small family distillery founded in 1931 and a name well loved by enthusiasts in Martinique, and its Tatanka releases are lightly aged agricoles from fresh pressed sugarcane juice. La Cabanne is column distilled and bottled unsweetened at 45%, showing the house style of cane juice character with just enough wood contact to add depth.

The nose is fresh and complex for its youth, with vegetal notes alongside pear, peaches and candied fruit, while the palate brings sugarcane, cocoa and tobacco with a custard like roundness. The finish carries peaches, candied fruit, brown sugar and butterscotch, giving a gentle natural sweetness without any added sugar. Well balanced and pleasant, it marries the grassy, vegetal snap of young agricole with a richer fruit and cocoa edge from the cask. This is an easygoing but characterful Neisson, equally at home sipped neat by those who like fresh agricole or built into a stirred drink that wants real cane personality.
