Neisson Profil 105

Neisson is a small, independent family distillery in Martinique, founded in the early 1930s and held in high regard by agricole drinkers. Like all Martinique agricole, Profil 105 is distilled from fresh pressed sugar cane juice on a creole column run at low strength, which keeps the grassy, vegetal cane character intact rather than stripping it away.

Bottled at a punchy 54.2% with no added sugar, as the agricole tradition demands, it leads with fresh sugarcane sap, dry wood and white pepper, vanilla and a vegetal, faintly floral lift filling out a complex nose. The palate stays dry and spice forward, the cane core threaded with pepper and oak and a warm, peppery finish. This is agricole with snap and freshness rather than sweetness, rewarding for drinkers who already enjoy dry cane juice rum and want more wood and intensity, neat or opened up with a splash of water.
