Neisson Le Rhum XO 2024 is a Martinique rhum agricole from Neisson, the small family distillery long favoured by agricole drinkers, released as an XO carrying at least six years of oak under the AOC. Tropical ageing means a six-year XO often shows maturity beyond its stated years.
Distilled from fresh sugar cane juice on a creole column and bottled at a cask strength 48.5% with no added sugar, a Neisson XO of this kind should marry the grassy agricole core to vanilla, baking spice and toasted oak, drier and more savoury than sweet molasses rum, with the higher proof giving it backbone.
