Neisson is a small, independent, family run distillery in Martinique with a devoted following, and this is its aged agricole, distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice rather than molasses under the island's strict AOC. At three years in oak it qualifies as vieux, the entry to true aged agricole, and shows the house style in a softer, everyday form.

The spirit comes off a creole column still run at low strength to keep the cane character intact, then matures in ex-bourbon oak, where the grassy, honeyed sugarcane core gains vanilla, soft tropical fruit and gentle spice. Tropical ageing does this work faster than a cooler climate would, giving a rounded, natural feel at a comfortable 45% with no added sugar permitted under the AOC. Clean and balanced, it sips well neat and holds up in cocktails, a reliable introduction to Neisson's aged range.
