Description

This is a white rhum agricole from Neisson, the small family distillery in Martinique, distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice under the island's AOC rather than from molasses. As a blanc it is rested rather than oak aged, so nothing stands between the drinker and the raw cane character, which is the whole point of the style.

Off a creole column still run deliberately low to keep the congeners in, it is all freshness and snap, fresh sugarcane and sap, lime and citrus, green vegetal notes and a lift of white pepper, dry rather than sweet. The AOC forbids added sugar, so the purity here is genuine, and at 52.5% the higher strength is a feature that drives that cane intensity. It is the quintessential everyday agricole for a Ti' Punch, neat with a twist of lime, or a fresh, vibrant Daiquiri.
