A hors d’age agricole from Neisson, the small Martinique family distillery prized for its blancs, distilled from fresh cane juice on a creole column and carrying a 1993 vintage at 46.3%, deeply aged in the dry French-island style.
Description
Neisson Hors d'Ages 1993 comes from one of Martinique's most respected small family distilleries, founded in 1931 and a long-standing favourite for its cane-juice rums. Distilled from fresh-pressed vesou on a creole column under the island's AOC, it carries a 1993 harvest.
Bottled at 46.3%, this is a long-aged Martinique agricole, and tropical maturation lends it depth well beyond the calendar. Expect the grassy, cane-driven core of the house softened by extended time in oak, with vanilla, toasted wood, cocoa and baking spice layered over it, dry and spice-forward rather than sweet. A bottle for unhurried sipping.
