N. Kröger Foursquare Wagemut PX-Cask

N. Kroger Foursquare Wagemut PX-Cask is an independently bottled Barbados rum from the island's most respected distillery, aged ten years and given a full Pedro Ximenez sherry cask maturation before bottling at 40.3%. Foursquare, under Richard Seale, is a flag bearer for additive free rum, so the marked sweetness here comes honestly from the PX cask rather than from any dosage.

That distinction is the whole story. This drinks dessert sweet, with the PX bringing raisin, dried fruit, vanilla and honey over the gentle, balanced Bajan base, yet it remains genuinely unsweetened, a clean alternative to dosed sugar bombs that chase the same effect. The nose is all sweet honey, vanilla, oak and nuts, and the palate is soft, woody and fruity with a warm sherried finish. It is mild and can feel light on depth, but as a soft, sherry driven Barbados sipper for an evening, a cigar or dessert, it has real charm and an honest label.
