This Wagemut release takes 10 year Foursquare rum from Richard Seale's Barbados distillery and matures it in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, bottled by the German house N. Kröger at cask strength, 58.7%. It is the full-proof sibling to the standard Wagemut PX, built to deliver the same character with more punch.
Foursquare's pot-and-column distillate gives a warm, oak-driven base, and the PX casks layer it with sweet, dark sherry influence. Raisin, dried fruit and rich sherry lead, with dark chocolate and polished oak deepening a long, full finish. The sherry sweetness here comes from the cask rather than additives, and at this strength the rum reads concentrated and powerful while staying balanced. It suits drinkers who enjoy sweet, sherried sippers and want the extra intensity of cask strength, a fuller, longer expression that fans tend to prefer over the gentler standard bottling.
