Description
Signatory Vintage, the Edinburgh independent founded in 1988, marks its 30th anniversary with this 45 Year Old. Mosstowie was the heavier malt Miltonduff made on its Lomond stills between 1964 and 1981, a separate spirit from the same Speyside distillery. This is a 1973 vintage from Oloroso cask 7622, an outturn of 410 bottles.
By forty-five years the sherry, oxidation and evaporation had taken the fuller Mosstowie spirit to its limit, dried fruit and leather worn soft, the strength near 40%.
At 51.6% it shows a hay-like, oily depth over deep sherried fruit, undiluted. A 1973 Mosstowie 45.
