Description
Bottled by the distillery, this bottling is an official Mortlach. Mortlach is Speyside's great meaty malt, its 1823 Dufftown stillhouse using worm tubs and a 2.81 distillation that defies the region's lighter norm.
Ex-Bourbon maturation framed the muscular Dufftown spirit, the low-tannin oak lending vanilla over the savoury core as oxidation slowly began.
At 49% it shows citrus, honey and an oak-framed depth carried on the heavy Dufftown body, undiluted. Mortlach at full weight.
