Description
Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, released this 9 Year Old: a 2016 from a small parcel of casks. Mortlach, owned by John Walker & Sons from 1923, makes a dense, sulphury Speyside through worm tubs and its singular 2.81-times distillation.
Nine years in a bourbon cask kept the bold, full-bodied make bold and spirit-led, low-tannin oak lending vanilla over the savoury core.
At 40% it shows citrus, cooked fruit, fresh fruit, honey, leather and malt extract. A muscular Speyside malt.
