Description
From Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, this 8 Year Old is a 2008 from cask 800054, an outturn of 249 bottles. Mortlach is the Speyside outlier known as the Beast of Dufftown, its worm tubs and 2.81 distillation building a dense, sulphury, meaty spirit.
Eight years in a bourbon cask kept the robust Mortlach spirit bold and spirit-led, low-tannin oak lending vanilla over the savoury core.
At 61.2% it shows fresh fruit and honey, undiluted. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
