Description
Silver Seal, an independent bottler, bottles this 25 Year Old: a 1989 from cask 3911, an outturn of 480 bottles. Mortlach, the Beast of Dufftown, condenses its spirit in worm tubs and part-triple-distils through the tiny Wee Witchie still, building weight and a savoury, sulphury core.
Across twenty-five years the Oloroso and a slow angel's share concentrated the muscular Dufftown spirit into stewed dried fruit, chocolate and a leathery depth.
At 52.4% it shows chocolate, undiluted. Mortlach at full weight.
