Description
Sestante, an independent bottler, drew this 22 Year Old. Mortlach's robust, umami-rich spirit is the work of worm-tub condensers and the Wee Witchie's triple pass, a regime in place at Dufftown since 1897.
Across twenty-two years the refill oak gave less while oxidation and a slow angel's share concentrated the oily, meaty spirit into dried fruit, leather and an oily weight.
At 46% it shows vanilla, cooked fruit and a savoury weight framed by the dense Dufftown spirit. A meaty, muscular Mortlach.
