Description
From Daily Dram, an independent bottler, this 22 Year Old is from a 1989 vintage. Mortlach, the first licensed distillery in Dufftown, runs a 2.81-times distillation and worm-tub condensers that give the heavy, meaty spirit fans call the Beast of Dufftown.
Across twenty-two years the refill oak gave less while oxidation and a slow angel's share concentrated the oily, meaty spirit into dried fruit, leather and an oily weight.
At 56.1% it shows vanilla, cooked fruit and a savoury weight over the meaty Mortlach body, undiluted. A muscular Speyside malt.
