Description
From The Whisky Cask, an independent bottler, this 20 Year Old is a 1997 vintage. Mortlach, owned by John Walker & Sons from 1923, makes a dense, sulphury Speyside through worm tubs and its singular 2.81-times distillation.
Across twenty years the sherry's melanoidins and growing oxidation built dried fruit, nutmeg and leather into the robust Mortlach spirit.
At 56.2% it shows dried fruit, leather and polished oak over the meaty Mortlach body, undiluted. A savoury, muscular Mortlach.
