Mortlach 19 Years Old 1995 Cask #4085 + 4095 (Signatory Vintage)

Signatory Vintage, the Edinburgh independent founded in 1988, drew this 19 Year Old, a 1995 vintage, a small parcel of casks, an outturn of 754 bottles. Mortlach is Speyside's great meaty malt, its 1823 Dufftown stillhouse using worm tubs and a 2.81 distillation that defies the region's lighter norm.

Across nineteen years the oak's ellagitannins added structure while oxidation deepened the meaty spirit into cooked fruit and leather.

At 46% it shows citrus, honey and an oak-framed depth over the full-bodied base. A muscular Speyside malt.
