Description
From Moon-Import, an independent bottler, this 19 Year Old is a 1991 distillation, an outturn of 590 bottles. Mortlach is the Speyside outlier known as the Beast of Dufftown, its worm tubs and 2.81 distillation building a dense, sulphury, meaty spirit.
Nineteen years in ex-Bourbon let oxidation gain weight, baked fruit and a waxy, oily depth building over the dense Mortlach spirit.
At 46% it shows vanilla, cooked fruit and a savoury weight over the full-bodied base. A muscular Speyside malt.
