Mortlach 18 Years Old 1997 Cask #7179 + 7180 (Signatory Vintage)

From Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, this 18 Year Old is a 1997 vintage, a small parcel of casks. Founded in Dufftown in 1823, Mortlach owes its rich, meaty weight to worm-tub condensers and the unusual 2.81 distillation devised by Alexander Cowie.

By eighteen years the dense Mortlach spirit had turned oxidative, esters and acetals lending dried fruit and a savoury, oily weight beneath the vanilla.

At 46% it shows citrus, fresh fruit and honey. A Beast of Dufftown.
