Description
From Jean Boyer, an independent bottler, this 18 Year Old is a 1990 distillation. Mortlach's robust, umami-rich spirit is the work of worm-tub condensers and the Wee Witchie's triple pass, a regime in place at Dufftown since 1897.
Eighteen years in Oloroso deepened the bold, full-bodied make into figgy dried fruit and leather, oxidation and ellagitannins adding a nutty, polished structure.
At 43% it shows dried fruit, leather and polished oak over the full-bodied base. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
