Description
From Whiskyjace, an independent bottler, this 15 Year Old is a 2008 distillation, an outturn of 60 bottles. Mortlach is Speyside's great meaty malt, its 1823 Dufftown stillhouse using worm tubs and a 2.81 distillation that defies the region's lighter norm.
Fifteen years in Oloroso deepened the bold, full-bodied make into figgy dried fruit and leather, oxidation and ellagitannins adding a nutty, polished structure.
At 52.4% it shows chocolate, citrus, leather, malt extract, a nutty depth and a sherried weight, undiluted. Mortlach at full weight.
