This 14 Year Old is a distillery bottling of Mortlach. Mortlach's heavy, savoury style comes from worm-tub condensing and a part-triple distillation through the Wee Witchie, unchanged since 1897.
Across fourteen years in American oak, esterification got underway and the meaty spirit rounded, vanilla and light toffee folding in.
At 43.4% it shows citrus, honey, a sherried depth, tobacco, fresh fruit and cooked fruit. The savoury Dufftown style.
