Description
Signatory Vintage, the Edinburgh independent founded in 1988, released this 14 Year Old, a 2008 vintage from a small parcel of casks. Mortlach, long the muscular heart of the Johnnie Walker blends, draws its meaty depth from low-copper worm tubs and a 2.81-times distillation regime.
Across fourteen years in American oak, esterification got underway and the meaty spirit rounded, vanilla and light toffee folding in.
At 46% it shows vanilla. Mortlach at full weight.
