Description
Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, drew this 12 Year Old, from a 2013 vintage. Mortlach, the Beast of Dufftown, condenses its spirit in worm tubs and part-triple-distils through the tiny Wee Witchie still, building weight and a savoury, sulphury core.
Twelve years in Oloroso wrapped the muscular Dufftown spirit in dried fruit, the sherry's melanoidins giving raisin and fig over the meaty core.
At 57.1% it shows fragrant, vanilla, honey, fresh fruit, a leafy note and dried fruit, undiluted. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
