Description
The Taste of Whisky, an independent bottler, drew this 12 Year Old: cask 90021004, a 2013 vintage. Mortlach, the first licensed distillery in Dufftown, runs a 2.81-times distillation and worm-tub condensers that give the heavy, meaty spirit fans call the Beast of Dufftown.
By twelve years the Oloroso had married the bold, full-bodied make, melanoidins lending dried fruit and chocolate to the savoury depth.
At 55.7% it shows chocolate, dried fruit, a nutty depth, a sherried weight, an oily texture and tobacco, undiluted. A meaty, muscular Mortlach.
