Description
From Morrison and MacKay, bottlers of the Carn Mor range, this 12 Year Old is a 2007 vintage, an outturn of 708 bottles. Mortlach, long the muscular heart of the Johnnie Walker blends, draws its meaty depth from low-copper worm tubs and a 2.81-times distillation regime.
Across twelve years the Oloroso butt loaded the heavy spirit with date, raisin and a nutty edge, weight and sherry meeting head on.
At 47.5% it shows leather, fresh oak, a sherried depth, chocolate, dried fruit and old wood, undiluted. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
