Description
From Signatory Vintage, the Edinburgh independent founded in 1988, this 11 Year Old is a 2012 distillation. Mortlach is Speyside's great meaty malt, its 1823 Dufftown stillhouse using worm tubs and a 2.81 distillation that defies the region's lighter norm.
Eleven years across ex-Bourbon and Oloroso layered the rich, meaty spirit, the bourbon lending vanilla and the sherry dried fruit and leather.
At 48.2% it shows a sherried depth, leather, citrus, dried fruit, tobacco and a hay-like note, undiluted. The savoury Dufftown style.
