Description
From Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, this 11 Year Old is a 2010 from cask 12, an outturn of 704 bottles. Mortlach, long the muscular heart of the Johnnie Walker blends, draws its meaty depth from low-copper worm tubs and a 2.81-times distillation regime.
By eleven years the Oloroso had married Mortlach's weighty make, melanoidins lending dried fruit and chocolate to the savoury depth.
At 58% it shows chocolate, citrus, dried fruit, a sherried depth, cooked fruit and glasshouse, undiluted. A bold, rich Mortlach.
