Description
From Signatory Vintage, the Edinburgh independent founded in 1988, this 11 Year Old is a 2008 from a small parcel of casks, an outturn of 475 bottles. Mortlach, the Beast of Dufftown, condenses its spirit in worm tubs and part-triple-distils through the tiny Wee Witchie still, building weight and a savoury, sulphury core.
By eleven years the bourbon oak had knitted with the bold, full-bodied make, caramelised hemicellulose lending fudge alongside the savoury depth.
At 57.6% it shows citrus, fragrant, fresh fruit, honey and fresh oak, undiluted. The savoury Dufftown style.
