Description
This official 11 Year Old comes from Mortlach itself. It draws on a 1997 vintage. An outturn of 240 bottles. Mortlach, long the muscular heart of the Johnnie Walker blends, draws its meaty depth from low-copper worm tubs and a 2.81-times distillation regime.
By eleven years the bourbon oak had knitted with the robust Mortlach spirit, caramelised hemicellulose lending fudge alongside the savoury depth.
At 57.1% it shows honey, dried fruit and a leathery depth carried on the heavy Dufftown body, undiluted. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
