Description
From Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, this 10 Year Old is from a 2014 vintage. Mortlach, owned by John Walker & Sons from 1923, makes a dense, sulphury Speyside through worm tubs and its singular 2.81-times distillation.
Ten years in ex-Bourbon let oak meet weight, vanilla and honey from lignin and wood sugars settling over the oily, meaty spirit.
At 48.2% it shows dried fruit, a sherried depth, chocolate, a nutty weight, citrus and an oily texture, undiluted. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
