Description
From Weinturm, an independent bottler, this 10 Year Old is cask 33, a 2003 vintage, an outturn of 296 bottles. Mortlach, owned by John Walker & Sons from 1923, makes a dense, sulphury Speyside through worm tubs and its singular 2.81-times distillation.
By ten years the bourbon oak had knitted with the bold, full-bodied make, caramelised hemicellulose lending fudge alongside the savoury depth.
At 57.7% it shows citrus, honey and an oak-framed depth over the full-bodied base, undiluted. The savoury Dufftown style.
