Moon Import bottled this single cask of Enmore from the 1990 vintage, twenty-six years old and matured in a sherry cask. The label names Enmore, and the woody, spicy, liquorice led profile reflects the wooden still character of that estate, presented in Moon Import's typically restrained, lower strength style.

Molasses based and matured in sherry wood, it favours elegance over force. The nose gives anise, liquorice, oak and roasted notes, the palate brings liquorice, charred wood, anise and burnt sugar, and the finish stays smoky with liquorice, anise and pencil shavings. The sherry adds a subtle layer to the classic Demerara wood and spice. Bottled at a gentle 45 percent, it is comfortable and refined rather than powerful, with some wishing for more strength behind it. A relaxed, elegant old Enmore for drinkers who prize poise over punch.
