Moon Import, an Italian bottler with a long history in Caribbean rum, selected this Diamond Demerara from a 2004 vintage and bottled it at an approachable 45%. Diamond is the home of Demerara Distillers, the site that rescued and still runs Guyana's heritage stills, and its own metal-column spirit is the lighter, cleaner core of the style.
With no specific still marque recorded, the safe reading is the Diamond column house character: molasses and toffee, bitter chocolate and light oak, more rounded than the oily Port Mourant pot-still profile. At 45% it sits in friendly sipping territory. A straightforward, well-aged Guyanese rum from a respected old-school Italian bottler.
