Description

Moon Import Clarendon Rum 1998 is a Jamaican pot still rum distilled at Clarendon in 1998 and bottled at 6 years old by the respected Italian bottler Moon Import. Unusually for Jamaica, this is distilled from fresh sugar cane juice rather than molasses, which tends to give a greener, more grassy and floral edge alongside the island's pot still fruit.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at 46%, this is a characterful vintage single from a workhorse Clarendon-parish distillery. The cane-juice base and pot still distillation make for a distinctive Jamaican, with tropical fruit and a vegetal, herbal lift framed by light bourbon-barrel oak.
