Moon Import Clarendon Rum 1996 is a Jamaican pot still rum distilled at Clarendon in 1996 and bottled at 5 years old by the respected Italian bottler Moon Import. Clarendon is a workhorse Clarendon-parish distillery running both pot and column stills, and its pot still marks can be very funky, so expect bright tropical fruit, spice and the island's ester edge in a younger expression.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at 46%, this is a lively vintage single in the purist Moon Import style. At five years the pot still character stays fresh and fruit-driven, with light bourbon-barrel oak framing the esters rather than burying them, a characterful younger Jamaican at flavour-friendly strength.
