Description
Montagave Blanco Heritage is a 100% Blue Weber tequila made at Cascahuin, NOM 1123, in the El Arenal lowlands of Jalisco under master distiller Salvador Rosales Trejo, where four generations of know how meet barrels from Bordeaux Grand Cru estates. The brief rest in those wine casks gives it a pink blush, making it one of the uncommon rose tequilas, a blanco lightly touched by oak rather than a true aged expression.
The agave is cooked in a brick oven for 72 hours, milled and twice distilled in a copper pot still, then rested 45 days in first and second fill Bordeaux casks. The nose stays fresh with cooked agave, citrus peel and green herbs lifted by red berries, vanilla and a wisp of oak. The palate adds dark cherry and redcurrant with soft creaminess, light tannin and a touch of baking spice, closing clean yet rich at 41%.
