Description
Momotarō takes its name from the Japanese folk tale of the peach boy who hatched from a peach and set off with three animal companions to defend the world from monsters. That adventurous spirit runs through this handcrafted German gin, which weaves Far Eastern botanicals into a classic juniper base: yuzu, green tea, coriander and citrus fruits chief among them. The blend of familiar and exotic gives it an unusual, quietly intriguing character.
The nose offers fresh yuzu citrus, subtle juniper spice and fine herbal aromas. The palate is harmonious and complex, fruity yuzu and lemon nuances meeting gentle juniper and a slight hint of green tea. The finish is long and pleasantly dry, freshness balanced against a spicy depth. Build it into a G&T with a Japanese twist, garnished with yuzu, or stir it into a Japanese-style Negroni.
