Molinari Sambuca Extra is one of Italy's best known sambuca liqueurs, made to a guarded family recipe and regarded as a benchmark for authentic Italian aniseed liqueur. In the anise liqueur manner it carries an intense aniseed flavour over a sweet base, bottled at 40%, stronger than many sambucas, with a balance of sweetness and spice that has long defined the house style.

The nose is intense aniseed with subtle herbal and spicy notes, the palate sweet and aromatic with dominant aniseed, harmonious spice and a balanced sweetness, finishing long, smooth and intense with a characteristic aniseed aftertaste and a touch of orange peel. Behind the bar it works as a sweet, aromatic anise note, adding liquorice and aniseed character, and at full strength it holds its flavour in a mix. It is classically served neat and ice cold, on the rocks, or con la mosca with three floating coffee beans, and pairs naturally with an espresso. Pour it chilled as a digestif, or use it for an anise lift in a stirred drink.
