Miyagikyo 12 Years Old

Miyagikyo 12 Years Old is a single malt from Nikka's Miyagi Prefecture distillery, a site established in 1969 in a wooded valley near Sendai. Two extra years beyond the 10 Years Old allow the Ex-Bourbon maturation to work further on the distillery's naturally soft, fruit-forward spirit, rounding the profile and adding greater integration between the wood and the malt.

The typical Miyagikyo character of orchard and red fruit, gentle malt and light floral sweetness is joined by vanilla and a measured wood spice from the bourbon wood, all at a restrained 45% that keeps the expression approachable and food-friendly. It forms a reliable middle point in the distillery's age-stated range.
