Description

Minoki Mizunara Japanese Rum is a blend dressed up with a finishing period in Mizunara, the prized Japanese oak more often seen in whisky. The Mizunara is the talking point here, lending a soft layer of vanilla and toffee on top of an otherwise gentle, young tasting spirit.

At 40% it is mild and approachable, with caramel, light oak, roasted notes and a touch of dark chocolate, finishing on vanilla and dried fruit. The cask influence is more of a subtle accent than a transformation, so this reads as an easy, undemanding sipper or a slightly oak twisted mixer rather than a deep, contemplative dram. A pleasant introduction to what Mizunara brings to rum.
