The Whisky Agency releases this 30 Year Old in its Insects series, a 1980 vintage in ex-Bourbon, an outturn of 196. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside distilled where Pluscarden Abbey's old meal mill once stood, long a heart of Ballantine's.
By thirty years the delicate Speyside make had become profound but delicate, old-library oak and waxy esters over fruit worn soft by the decades.
At 49% it shows deep mature orchard fruit and vanilla, undiluted. A 1980 Insects 30.
