Description
Hart Brothers has bottled single casks from Glasgow since the 1960s. This Finest Collection 23 Year Old is a 1973 vintage Miltonduff in ex-Bourbon. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside malt distilled near Pluscarden Abbey and long destined for Ballantine's.
Twenty-three years in a bourbon cask, much of it past peak extraction, left the floral spirit stewed and leathery, the alcohol slowly leaving for the angels.
At 43% it shows hay, a leafy lift, malt extract and old wood over the mature floral body. A Finest 23.
