Description
Sestante, the storied Italian bottler released this 23 Year Old as Antica Casa Marchesi Spinola, a 1966 vintage matured in Oloroso. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside distilled where Pluscarden Abbey's old meal mill once stood, long a heart of Ballantine's.
Across twenty-three years the Oloroso and a slow angel's share concentrated the soft, floral character into stewed dried fruit, the strength easing as it aged. The humid Speyside warehouse let alcohol leave faster than water, easing the strength down.
At 61.4% it shows deep sherried dried fruit over the floral body, undiluted. A 1966 Sestante 23.
