Description
Berry Bros & Rudd, the London merchant trading since 1698. This 22 Year Old draws on a 1989 vintage in ex-Bourbon, cask 449009. Miltonduff, a light, floral Speyside from near Elgin, its spirit long destined for the Ballantine's blend.
Twenty-two years in ex-Bourbon saw fresh extraction tail off and oxidation take over, drawing stewed and dried fruit, polished oak and a nutty edge from the delicate Speyside make.
At 54.3% it shows mature apple, pear and vanilla, undiluted. A 1989 single cask 22.
