Orcines, a French independent, bottles this 16 Year Old, a 2007 vintage from ex-Bourbon cask 180595, a release of 236 bottles. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside malt distilled near Pluscarden Abbey and long destined for Ballantine's.
Sixteen years in a bourbon cask matured the grassy, floral make into richer territory, toffee and cooked fruit over an emerging waxiness.
At 46% it shows apple, sweet pear and vanilla. An Orcines 16.
