From Murray McDavid's Art of Maturation Benchmark range, this 15 Year Old is a 2008 vintage matured across Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez, a release of 1,625 bottles. Miltonduff, the fresh, floral Speyside distilled beside Pluscarden Abbey near Elgin and long bound for the Ballantine's blend.
Fifteen years across Oloroso and PX wrapped the floral spirit in dried fruit, the casks' residual sugars and melanoidins giving raisin, date and treacle.
At 53.9% it shows deep sherried dried fruit over the floral body, undiluted. An Art of Maturation 15.
